Weekly or Every 15 Days: How Often Should Your Home Be Cleaned?

There is no single right answer to how often a home should be professionally cleaned. It depends on how many people live there, whether there are pets or small children, how much cooking happens, and how much cleaning you want to do yourself in between.

Weekly cleaning suits busy households: families with kids, homes with pets that shed, and anyone who cooks most nights. Dust, hair, and kitchen grease never get the chance to build up, so each visit is quicker and the house stays at the same level all the time.

Cleaning every 15 days is the most common choice. It works well for couples, smaller households, and homes without pets. You handle light tidying — dishes, a quick wipe of the counters — and the bathrooms, floors, dusting, and kitchen get a full clean twice a month.

A one-time clean makes sense before guests arrive, after a renovation or a party, or when a home needs a reset. If it has been a while since the last thorough cleaning, a deep clean first is usually the better value, because recurring visits afterwards can focus on maintaining instead of catching up.

Short-term rentals are a different case: they need cleaning on the guests' schedule, not the calendar's. Beds made, bathrooms spotless, and floors done between every stay is what earns good reviews.
